On checking in, I was given the only basement room; no natural light and no warning the hotel had a regular room in the basement or that I would be out in there. After making a fuss about it, and while I was looking for a new hotel, the receptionist found a room for me on the first floor. A bit loud with street noise, but at least it had a window and natural light.

The hotel is good the only thing is that it doesn't have an elevator. Not a problem if you're in the first floor but a little inconvenient if you're at the top. Otherwise is clean, convenient with a good breakfast.

This is a wonderful hotel with excellent staff. Breakfast was amazing. The staff could not do enough for us. Fabulous I can highly recommend it to everyone.

The staff were very helpful and made our stay so enjoyable, the breakfasts were also great. The location was perfect to explore York, park the car in the hotels secure car park and go.

Lovely stay at The Minster Hotel. All the staff we met were very friendly. We arrived in York early in the day, and they were happy to let us park in their secure car park leaving us to go off and explore the city before returning later to check in. After reading some posts about uncomfortable mattresses, I was prepared for an unsettled sleep, but I understand they’ve replaced their mattresses, and ours was very firm and comfortable! Breakfast was delicious, with a wide choice of pastries, cereals, fruit, meats and cheeses and a very good choice of cooked breakfast too. We’ll definitely be returning!

Lovely hotel with comfy bed and great view
We stayed for 2 nights for my birthday and had a very nice room with a view over the Minster which was lovely. Room was on the 3rd floor and there is no lift so make sure you take all you need! The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the staff super helpful and friendly. The hotel is 5 minutes from the city walk Would definitely stay again

After having stayed in a couple of bad hotels the previous two nights, we were super excited to arrive. The room was clean and the shower good. But the mattress on the bed was as old and hard as the floor in York Minster Cathedral. Literally painful. The bed was an old spring mattress with pillows equally hard. Could’ve been the perfect place, just desperately in need of new bedding.

Close by to the City walls,York Minster, river, park [were we fed the squirrels 🐿️] there’s lots to do in York if you’re looking for bars,restaurants, shopping sightseeing and a cruise on the river. The dungeons are a must . We always look to stay at the Minster hotel
