A first class guest House
A fantastic location close to the center, we were made to feel welcome from the start despite arriving later than expected. A filling breakfast cooked by kevin with a good choice of food ,juices, tea or coffee. A nice welcome at breakfast by all staff. Rooms were spotlessly clean and of a decent size. Definitely will return. Many thanks

Warm welcome from owner. Bed linen was very clean and bed was comfortable. The room was in the attic and was very hot due to the weather but there was a fan for use. Breakfast was very nicely cooked and included in the price of the room, which is excellent value for money for what is a York city centre location. The Crescent is a 5 minute walk to York Minster. The interior was quite tired looking and needs an update but has everything you need for an overnight stay. I probably wouldn’t stay for more than one night.

Not a great experience
The location is amazing. Only 5 minutes walking from the wall, the cathedral and shops, Shambles. The breakfast was excellent. Really hot, efficiently served onallocated time. That is the nicest thing I can say. En-suite was tiny, grubby, very dull lighting. Bed was passed its best. Window was small so did not afford good lighting when the room was already dark.

This place is a great spot! I would definitely stay there again. It is walking distance to the train and also to all the tourist sites. (About 15 mins for train and tourist sites) buses also right outside. Lots of places around to dine and a cute, delicious bakery right beside! The breakfast included is also fantastic.

We stayed in a ground floor room, which luckily was doubled glazed as the hotel is on the main road into York. It was clean and had everything we needed. One thing that concerned us was the fact we had to choose our breakfast the night before, plus a time that we wanted to eat. I would advise anyone staying that you arrive at the correct time, because your breakfadt is on the table at thst time, so if you are 10mins late as one guest was, your food will be cold. Also its a good 20 min walk to the walls and the Cathedral

Lovely place to stay. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. 10 min walk to the station and 5 min walk into centre of York. Would stay again.

It’s a while since we stayed in a guest house rather than a hotel, we were very impressed with the premises, cleanliness and staff. We were a bit unsure about the set breakfast time but it worked out fine and the breakfast was lovely. We would highly recommend staying there.

The room was adequately sized but was very dusty around carpet edges, inside table lamp shades, window sills etc. needs more attention/time given. Breakfast was ok, full English. The guest house is within easy walking distance to the city with a few pubs along the way.

Within easy walking distance to both train station & city centre. Swift booking in by host. Quiet room overlooking side street. Comfy bed, quality linen. Good shower. Tea/coffee tray. Ironing facilities. Breakfast time chosen night before with choices of food, so freshly cooked & just what we needed. Lovely staff, nice welcome. Would certainly recommend.

A clean comfortable stay close to the centre of York. Breakfast was well cooked and staff pleasant and polite. They messaged us in advance to let us know that our room was ready allowing us to book in early.
