Wonderful hotel & staff.
Hotel is in a wonderful position adjoining York station. Rooms was fabulous, wonderful view over the garden towards the Minster. Staff are always very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is great.

True to appearances
Very grand looking building that stands out from its surroundings but the rooms seem to stick with the 150 year old aesthetic. Walls cracked and peeling with mould/ damp in the corners and a shower door that feels like it’ll break with every use. £19 for 24 hours of parking feels extortionate when considering the prices offered. Staff were understanding and considerate however there’s only so much they can do.

A beautiful hotel close to the York city walls and close walk to historic attractions. The hotel and room were beautiful but the bed and pillows a little uncomfortable. This was after we upgraded to a deluxe king room from our original booking.
