Good location and helpful staff. However the bed is so uncomfortable, even after the staff added a mattress topper/duvet over the mattress. It was too firm to sleep on, and the pillows were also rubbish. I won’t be staying here again.

A great hotel to stay in York.
The hotel is clean with friendly staff. The breakfast is wonderful. The location is great with a walking distance to old the city wall and main attractions. But the hotel is pricey.

Great stay in York
We enjoyed our stay. We picked it for the location, as we wanted to be close to the train station, and that worked out well; it’s only a short walk into the central area of town and is itself within the old city walls. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff members were friendly. We’d recommend!

We had a drink at the bar and were served flat lager when asked to make it more lively we were given a grumpy look from the older bar lady no chat very rude!! The bed was horrendous every time you moved the springs were so noisy. There was no fresh air in the room and the air con did not help we did not sleep well at all. We complained at reception his name was Thurston he apologised but it seemed rehearsed like it was a normal day for him. This was a 60th birthday present from my husband we were both disappointed. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had though

Hotel itself was great, breskfast great, room size good, only negative was the bed!! It was like sleeping on cornflakes, the noise just sitting on it was awful, if you moved an inch once laid down, it was horrendous!

Excellent York hotel!!
This is an excellent hotel to stay in when visiting York. Location is great, staff were friendly and accommodating, room was excellent. Even got a cooked breakfast! The only slight downside would be that the discount on the cost of parking wasn’t very much. Would stay there again no problem if we return to York and recommend to friends and family.

We like to book separate beds for bet byter sleep when we travel. Here we had 2 ample beds instead of true singles which is often the case. Very clean and tastefully appointed.

Smooth check-in process, polite and friendly staff. The room was relatively small once the sofa bed had extended out into a small double. Our daughter found a sock belonging to a previous guest in the folding mechanism of the bed itself. Sadly, the mattresses were awful on both the main double and the sofa bed resulting in a really poor nights sleep all round. Breakfast was decent, albeit extremely busy due to a lack of dining tables for the hotel size.

Hotel is nice and modern, room ok size with clean bathroom. Parking is offsite at local NCP - a bit of a squeeze but discount available from hotel. Breakfast buffet has a good selection, was quite crowded both days (weekend). Location is very good for walking around the city and close to good restaurants in the evening for a short walk back.
