I booked a single room for myself and found that I was stuck into a ground floor handicapped/disabled room without a single window which i did not request. I also discovered that I had been charged 200 GBP for that room, whilst single rooms on other floors were 134 GBP. This was an overcharge and I will never stay at this property again and will be telling everyone I know to avoid the Dean Court Hotel.

Overall the staff was great. The receptionist, manager, and various other very helpful staff. The only negative I had was during breakfast. I had to go on the hunt to find a person to order from after waiting and watching others eat for 10 minutes. The young lady that did finally take our order seemed bothered and she never once came back to our table, even though she continued to wait on all the the other tables in the restaurant. The breakfast was good though, as was the dinner the night before. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location. Great staff. Could be fantastic but very old and in poor condition inside . Could use a complete renovation as very old. Dirty faded hallway and stair carpeting, chipping paint, old wallpaper and dated room decor and bathrooms . Has such potential as great location and staff and charming outside but needs an update. Needs new updated AC and heating system and modern technology

The whole staff were incredible from the reception ladies to Dale who helped me with the suitcases and valet parked my car . Dinner was another lovely experience . The hotel is situated conveniently near all the York attractions . I will recommend this hotel to friends and family . Diane Canterbury

Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay at the Dean Cort. Location is perfect, directly in front of the Minster. Staff were helpful and polite. There was no AC but that is how it is in a lot of places. The breakfast was amazing, definately fuel for a day of sight seeing in York.

Charming Hotel in Historic Centre
Excellent location just opposite the Minster in a quieter part of town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast (included) offered many options. Room was uncomfortably warm due to unusually high temperatures. Unfortunately that may be the trend going forward. Was thankful for the room fan, but more cooling would have been welcome. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed my stay.
