Great stay

I return to this hotel at least yearly to attend my nursing alumni annual meeting and dinner. Although during the years to outdoor atmosphere has appeared a little less than desirable the staff especially the front desk are always warm and welcoming. To my surprise and delight, I obtained an upgraded room which was delightful. The supper in the salon as usual was amazing and the serving staff did their utmost and did an excellent job. Congratulations to all.

Overall I would give this place a 7.9 out of 10. We stayed for two nights, we found the beds to be very comfortable and the jacuzzi relaxing (but loud and at times cold). The shower was a little bit dated a low for my liking. The main benefit of this hotel is the location, everything that we wanted to do in Winnipeg was a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute walk (don’t worry about getting lost the hotel has a huge maple leaf on the top of it, like a North Star lol). Would I go back again, plain and simple yes!

Pool was the worst

The main reason for staying at this hotel was the waterslide/pool area. The pool is terribly maintained. There is slimy brown/green mould all over the stairs leading up to the top of the slide. The pool/hot tub chemicals were way out of wack (I say this as someone who has experience with pool/spa water makeup). There are excessive chloramines that are producing off-gas that will make your eyes burn and your skin to be irritated (even if you do not open your eyes in the water).

Area was very sketchy when being out past 9pm. Got no sleep due to noise constantly in the hallway and people knocking on doors through the night. Security was in the hallway between 3 and 4 am with the 2 way radio on full blast that woke everyone up.
