Smoking violation charges.
The amenities were exactly what I had required. No more, no less. My most uneasy concern was the "No Smoking" notification that additional charges would be levied in the event that there was smoking in my unit, which can only be determined after check-out. This was a requirement prior to check-in. Since I do NOT smoke, I had requested the desk clerk check my room for violation evidence of the mandated "no Smoking notification" prior to my departure. He refused. When I asked for a receipt, he claimed that Hotels.com would provide the receipt, since I booked through their website. I explained to him that they have no idea whether I smoked in the room or signed the mandated notification. If I get charged with a violation, I have no recourse. That makes me feel uneasy about my stay at your establishment. In the past, I have left my room key in the room and have been charged a "lost key fee." That is why I always take my key to the front desk on checkout. For all I know these charges are automatic and it is up to me to protest the charges. What proof do I have if these are the conditions of using your accommodations?
