Great place to stay

This is an older hotel and, as it makes clear, there are quite a few stairs to the second floor, though there is a lift to the first floor. A bit tricky for the guest with a mobility issue, I should think. It’s also dog-friendly, and how I feel about dogs is influenced by the guest-awareness and general responsibility of their owners. Not everyone appreciates a yappy dog on a terrace. BUT, The Marine is a great place to stay. Seafront, sea views, well-decorated, clean rooms, very comfortable beds, good wardrobe space and lots of light, with bright bulbs. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly, helpful and unfailingly cheerful. We’d have liked a small fridge, and a room safe. The shower is designed for the slender guest, and the tv doesn’t get subtitles. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Delightful break to this part of Kent…lovely location…fantastic restaurants all within easy walk of the hotel. Plenty helpful staff at the hotel. First time at the Marine Hotel and we’ll definitely be back.

All the staff were so lovely, each one we met. So kind to our 6 month old baby. Breakfast was fantastic with a big choice on the menu. Place could do with a lick of paint in some areas.
