The shower was full of a bacterial growth often called "pink mold" caused by a bacteria called Serratia marcescens, which can appear reddish in color and thrives in moist, warm environments like showers, often due to soap scum and mineral buildup from hard water; to remove it, clean the shower regularly with a bleach solution.
