Convenient location to shops, restaurants and transportation. However, the property is undergoing a renovation (as of March 2025) and although I was told by the receptionist I shouldn’t hear any loud noise in my room), the sound of drilling, probably from the room right above was so loud and irritating that I had to leave my room.
The night light in the toilet was so bright (there didn’t seem to be a way to switch it off), it shone through 3 layers of glass walls in the bathroom straight into the sleeping area. I had to stack two metal trash cans to cover it so I can get some sleep.
At check-in, I was not told that water is provided but I would have to request for it. I had just stayed at Intercontinental Auckland where there is a filtered water station on every floor so I thought it would be the same at this location.
I told the morning receptionist I’m checking out early and in the afternoon when I’m checking out, another reception had no idea of my plan. My Platinum Elite status got me nothing at this hotel, not even a “thank you for being a loyal customer”. Overall, not a good stay.
