Dont judge a hotel or motel by its outside. This little motel, was perfect! Small newly refurbished hotel was completed last year, with beautiful new bathroom fixtures and great clean rooms. There is a fridge that can make ice cubes, no microwave, or inroom coffee however, they have coffee on in the lobby in the am, the bed was comfortable and the furnishings appropriate. I give this one a 5 star rating!

Context- We are moving across the country. Booked two rooms. Felt like we were staying in someone’s bedroom. It was extremely small. Walls were paper thin. We could hear every conversation had at their reception and could hear what was being said inside other rooms. Bedding was awful— between the sheets was a fabric lining similar to carpet underlay labelled “Bristol” in sharpie. Bed was uncomfortable. Bathroom had a wafting smell of sewage. Tub was unlevel which made me worried for my mother who is older. Rooms were renovated but basically just lipstick on a pig. Called multiple times in the day to confirm our pets and no one answered and was even hung up on. When they did answer, they told me only one room is used for pets and they’ll “have to see” about the second room when we arrive or all pets would have to be in one room. Everywhere else in Wawa was booked so this was our only option. I don’t mind motels, they’ve always been a pleasant experience for cross country drives. But this, especially for its price, was dreadful. This building should not be used as a motel.

Good option
It's nice for hotels to have a 24 hour front desk, but the remote "desk" done over text still lets you check in 24 hours, which is important for me. It's a solid 2.5 hours from Sault to Wawa, so having that late option a lot times means the difference between staying in Sault or making that drive.

The front desk staff usually needs to be called from your phone. I have no cell phone. Newly renovated and a peaceful quiet night for me. Staff listens and responds well to your concerns.

We booked this hotel because they indicated online that it was pet friendly. When we arrived, they told us there were no pet friendly rooms available, and almost turned us away. The doors to the rooms did not have deadbolts that could be locked from the inside, which felt very unsafe.

The room was freshly renovated and in excellent condition. Furniture inside the room was limited, but the bed was comfortable, the refrigerator worked, the bathroom was clean and functional, and the hard surface floor was perfect for a dog friendly space. There was no signage out front to identify the hotel. The front stairs were in disrepair and had mats draped over the stairs to hide the condition, making for a potential slip and trip hazard from the mats. A large family group had checked in ahead of us and had several small children. They were in rooms just above us and we were kept awake all night by running/jumping sounds. The owner of the hotel did apologize to us for this and the second night was much quieter since they had checked out. For the price point, this hotel was perfectly acceptable. They have a few things to work on, but we were generally happy with them.

No sign on building. Office lobby was messy. Mats were outside on stairs making it difficult to get in. Checkout was just a clipboard lying on the counter. Door locks were difficult to read. No cups in room.

Fine if you have patience.
No one at desk. You have to call a phone number to get service for check in. Gave me someone else's room to start with. Another phone call to get them back to the desk, but then they were helpful and apologetic and corrected immediately. No elevator, so not accessible at all. The hotel name was nowhere outside on the building. Google maps was the only reason we found it. The bed was a little uncomfortable compared to other hotels we stayed in. But it was only one night on a long trip and was fine for our needs.
