The hotel is centrally located. It's a small, no frills hotel but the room was perfectly fine and even had a pretty spacious bathroom. There is a certain "old vibe" charm to the hotel. The oddest part was having to lug my suitcase to the reception since there was no ramp down the stairs from the entrance, but there was an elevator to the floors.
I love staying at the Architect hotel when I'm in the office for meetings. The rooms are always clean, the beds are comfortable and customer service is excellent.
The only thing I did not care for was the parking there is a parking garage next door but not over night so you have to move it by 7 pm when they close. Also when parking on the street on the side of the hotel you have to move your car by 7am bacause there is no parking there during the week after 7 am and 6 pm.
The property was uniquely designed, which I liked. Everyone I interacted with at the front desk was helpful and nice. The lobby area, elevators, halls, and my room were all cleaned very nicely. The property is very centrally located, with a Metro stop only a block away. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to DC!

Front door was not working correctly so it was a mission to get in a few times. Front desk didn't really explain much. Said my room number out loud thankfully no one else was in the main lobby. etc....
the architect hotel looks beautiful with alot of character - however the maintenance of the building is lacking - I would not suggest it be fully renovated as it would take away from its charm, however there were little things that would help make it feel like a well maintained historical building. I would suggest sanding and retreating the wood- and replacing the sheets with better quality ones. - I enjoyed the layout of the washroom but I would suggest lighter colored counters and walls as the dark wood everywhere makes the rooms seem closed in and dingy. The soundproofing from the door to the hallway was almost non existent. You could hear every detail once a guest got off the elevator and until they closed their room doors. All staff were an absolute delight. I would absolutely stay there again though because over all it was a great price and a great location. It was a cozy spot to rest whenever we were not exploring. In fact I am planning my next stay here in the next few months.
I arrived at 2am with my wife, exhausted feom a long day and long road trip. The check-in process was made chaotic after the front desk agent deliberately denied my reservation, claim that i did not have one, then claiming l was suppose to check-in before midnight, then claiming theirs nothing he can do, then i notice this giys eyes are red so he pretty much out of his mind and would like me to go with him, so i just called the cops to prepare a report of theft, when then all of a sudden has my reservation after an hour of jerking me around. Overall terrible front deak agent.
