The hotel is in a perfect area to do all things Old Town related. The staff was wonderful. Rooms are a little small, but not bad. Our biggest problem was that the bathroom door was see thru and they had a huge mirror that angled directly from the bed into the bathroom door. Anyone using the bathroom was completely visible to anyone else in the room no matter where they were.

The room was close to the roof I’m assuming so every night we heard the party up there which wasn’t too bad because it ended at a decent time but still a little loud. The area is great it is a perfect location. The food at the restaurant was great and the room itself was pleasant. Wish the water pressure was a bit stronger but it was very clean and well managed. I’d recommend this to friends for sure!

The Hotel PROPERTY itself is fine. My issues were entirely with the staff and management of the Hotel. They do not like the fact hat I booked through Expedia with the Pay at Property option. They literally refused to give me a Folio on checkout even after I explained the feature to them and that I payed the property when I arrived. The 2 ladies at the desk said directly that "I didn't understand how a third party booking service works". I stay in lots of Boutique hotels booked through Expedia and am used staff not understanding how the Pay at the Property feature of Expedia booking works. I am used to staff assuming I paid through. Eventually when I walk them through the process they understand that Expedia only reserved the room. This is the first time I've ever had a staff basically REFUSE to give me a receipt for my stay. I had to leave without the folio and I have to admit that by that time I was getting upset. I called later to try and get a receipt and got similar resistance from a different member of staff. Later on a different call, I finally got a staff member to admit they COULD send me a receipt but they never actually sent it after agreeing that would. I had to call them 9 times and send 2 emails. I asked for the manager several times and never got the manager. I will never stay here again. Again the property itself is fine but this staff and this includes SEVERAL people that I interacted with are the most unprofessional I have ever come across and I travel a LOT.

Excellent Location, one block from King St affording both convenience/walkability but also quiet. Beds were extremely comfortable, furnishings and bathroom very stylish (love the basket weave tile in bathroom), shower was luxurious, even detailed/thoughtful down to the soaps and shampoos offered. Coffee in lobby restaurant was delicious. Lived in Alexandria for several years, came back to visit for a wedding, and was extremely pleased with Hotel Heron at a very reasonable price. Literally my only regret is not making use of their rooftop bar! We will absolutely make this our only Hotel of choice whenever we return to Alexandria in the future.

This was one of the best hospitality and customer service experiences possible. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, made us feel welcomed, and went above and beyond to ensure the stay was special. The property is beautiful and the room was absolutely spotless.
