So happy I took a chance on this new hotel. Perfect for a single person. The room was comfortable, clean, and contemporary. Loved how I could control everything with an iPad (included with the room). The hotel was close to the Metro and a coffee shop was right across the street. The hotel bar and food options were very nice and convenient. I’ll be back.

NoMa Citizen M was my wife and I least favorite Citizen M. Didn't live up to our expectations of other Citizen Ms that we've stayed at but nonetheless it is an affordable option and a good choice among other DC hotels

The hotel itself was pretty nice. Very chic and clean. When I checked in, it took a while since they were having some computer issues but it wasn't too much of an issue. Room was very nice for what I needed and clean. The area around the hotel however is a different matter. I decided to walk from the Union Station to the hotel and the walk passed what I thought was a pretty safe area to NoMa. I grabbed a late takeout dinner at the pizza place in the area and went back to my hotel room for the night. 2 hours later while laying down in bed, I hear the sounds of 20 gunshots in quick succession. Thought at first it was fireworks but they sounded way too different. 10 minutes later I look out the window, to which I can see the place I grabbed dinner, I see the sight of an entire street with cop cars. Caught the news the next day, 2 people killed and multiple injured. Safe to say I made sure not to go out too late at night in the area. Other than that, charming.

If you are traveling alone or with a partner and are young, this is absolutely for you. "Young" because all the rooms are exactly the same and the beds are a little higher to accommodate under bed storage and one of you needs to crawl up on the other side. The breakfast selection is great and the bar is very stocked, I do not drink so I wouldn't know what they have on the menu but they have bottles with almost every brand logo under the sun, that I know of. It's a very different hotel experience compared to the Hyatts and Hiltons and Marriotts of the world, which I'd say this is on par with. Again, not for large families ie kids etc, but for you, your friends, traveling with your partner etc. Great assortment of dinings, cafes, restaurants, walks, night walks are very pretty and safe, very scenic.
