The unit we stayed in was well appointed and had everything we needed. They supplied much more than other timeshare units we have stayed in. We have arrived late and had enough toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, etc. to get us through the first few days. The decor was modern and, although the unit was surface cleaned, it could definitely use a deep cleaning. We had an issue with the dishwasher and dryer, both issues were resolved quickly by maintenance. The office staff was very friendly as was everyone we met on the grounds. There is only one small pool and hot tub at this location but we never found it overcrowded. It’s very close to the stores and Restaurants at Waikoloa but is a 30 to 40 minute drive to downtown Kona. We appreciated the location, but if you want to spend a lot of time in the Kona area, it might be a little far. The first seven days we were staying with our timeshare and found out that you need to pay $10 a day for air conditioning. We booked three additional days directly and apparently you don’t have to pay for air conditioning for those days. We did not wind up needing the air conditioning at all the whole time we were there but it’s something you’ll want to be aware of. Because it’s up in the mountains, a little bit, there was always a beautiful, cool breeze in the evenings. You need to be very mindful of the speed limits, we saw many people getting speeding tickets when we were there. Overall, I would recommend the Resort.

We stayed here about 10 years ago and it has certainly aged over that time without not many updates. They were a little reluctant to let us use the pool on checkout day which we thought was weird given that our flight left at 9:00 pm. Other than that it was roomy and had what we needed at a decent price.

Fantastic place to stay for a week! All amenities were provided, including bathroom products for hair and body! Not just trial size ones. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, the artwork was amazing too! Just a great place I would surely visit again!!

This place was a great deal for our family of five, the room was huge! Actually we each had our own rooms and bathrooms, which was a life saver so no one had to fight over them! The beds were so comfortable, I loved being able to do our laundry there and the kitchen and dining area were perfectly spacious. 10 out of 10, will definitely stay here again

This is my second time staying at Paniolo Greens. Overall, it is a fairly decent stay and one of the more bang-for-your-buck places on the northwestern side of Hawai'i Island. Each suite is super spacious, easily fitting a family of 4 and more. The bedding is really comfortable. The view out onto the golf course in the morning is very picturesque and having breakfast outside on the balcony is lovely. Lots of birds around. The downsides: The property is on the older side and it shows in the interior design which feels outdated. The staff generally do a good job of keeping the place clean. However, for my specific stay, the amenities in my suite were not fully stocked upon check-in so I had to contact housekeeping (almost entirely out of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, coffee filters, etc.). There aren't a lot of food options nearby but there is a KTA grocery store down the street, and there is a new shopping plaza being built nearby which will eventually add more dining options. Beach items are available for rent at the front desk (costs about $5/day per item). In closing, the place is pretty no-frills but it's spacious, clean, and a good home base for a Big Island trip. I do plan to come here again in the future since it's good value. FYI - if you arrive at night after the front desk is closed, there is a phone outside the office you can use to call the security personnel who will assist you with checking in.
