The most unique thing about the resort was it was more expensive to park my rental car than to rent it. Otherwise a great experience

Huge beautiful property. But not convenient at all. Because of the massive size everything is quite a hike away. A tram takes you from building to building so it’s difficult with numerous luggage’s. Not many dining options and they are pricey but very good food. Drinks pool side are small and $20 each. Big family friendly pool. The snack bars are only open from 12-4. Pool side bar is 12-6. The adults only pool again is far away and small with no bar or services. Staff was wonderful. Room was clean and nice sized, but no USB connections and no charging blocks available to buy or borrow. Vehicle parking feels like a mile away from your room so make sure you have everything with you when you park. You won’t want to go back and forth from car to room. I would say it takes a solid 20-30 minutes from car to our room with taking the shuttle tram plus the walking. We did book a second stay 4 months from now and looking forward to it. This time we’ll be better prepared.

The ocean tower is a 15 minute walk from the check in area. Although there is a tram it goes one mile an hour… it is slower than walking. Don’t ever stay in the ocean tower if you don’t like walking forever!

Worn out lumpy beds. The transportation system is a joke and it can take 30-40 min to get to the lobby. No hot tub even with the huge pool. How hard is it to put in a hot tub. This is huge like a timeshare, but there isn’t a place to prepare food so you better eat before 5 or the restaurants are ridiculously overpriced and mediocre

Help!!!

I did not check into the hotel, because I inadvertently booked the wrong dates. I made the reservation through Hotels.com and apparently it was a nonrefundable reservation. I tried to ask Hotels.com for a reimbursement and they tried by contacting Hilton, but could not get through to ask for a waiver. I am now on 72 hour wait for reply as to whether or not it will be granted. I also called the Hilton Waikaloa directly and the Reservationist said she was not able to do anything. She has no authority to change or cancel any reservations and because it was done through a 3rd party booking she couldn't do anything. I realize it was my mistake for not double checking the dates, but I am pleading for someone to help me reverse the charges. The actual date of my overnight stay is scheduled for March 17th and 18th.

Stay here- it's fabulous!

This is a beautiful property. The Ocean Tower is on the far end of the property, but it's an easy walk from the lobby. You have to park on the other end of the property, but they are happy to send your luggage to your room for you. Some people mention the slow shuttle- the property has a monorail system that goes from one end of it to the other. Yes, it is slow and you do have to wait for it for 10 to 15 minutes sometimes, but you can easily walk if that's too inconvenient for you. The walkway is filled with art and artifact replicas- it is like a little museum while you walk. The pool is fabulous- the lagoon has manta rays and sea turtles in it- you can swim right with them. I would definitely stay here again and in this area of the property because it's cheaper. Parking is $48/day though
