Disappointing Stay Despite Friendly Staff We stayed at this hotel on New Year's Eve, and unfortunately, our experience was less than ideal. While the hotel staff was friendly and the room was clean, there were serious safety concerns that made the stay uncomfortable, especially with children in tow. One of the biggest issues was the lack of secure access to the floors. The elevators and stairwells weren't restricted, meaning anyone could easily access guest floors and potentially try to enter rooms. This lack of security was particularly troubling because we had children with us, and we didn’t feel that they were safe in the environment. Throughout the night, there was a man banging loudly on doors and screaming. The noise was incredibly disturbing, and despite the situation being clearly disruptive, no hotel staff seemed to intervene or address it. Additionally, when we tried calling the front desk for assistance, no one answered. This lack of response left us feeling unsupported and unsafe during a very unsettling situation. While the hotel has friendly staff and decent cleanliness, the absence of proper security and the lack of response to disturbances make it difficult to recommend, especially for families with children. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes necessary improvements to ensure the safety and well-being of future guests.

My recent 3 night stay at The Quality Inn was better than I thought it was going to be. The front staff, all very nice and welcoming. The rooms, simple yet comfortable. The mattresses and the pillows they use were so comfortable I slept through each night perfectly. The location couldn’t be better, as you’re in walking distance to everything you need in the downtown Victoria core. Thank you, Quality Inn!

My stay at this hotel was extremely unsettling. Two male maintenance workers walked into my room just before I was about to shower, and the general manager's response was dismissive and blamed me for the situation. You don’t need a key to access common areas like hallways and stairs once you’re in the garage. When I mentioned this to staff, they admitted they’d raised this concern multiple times, but the GM ignored them. It felt unsafe knowing anyone could access guest areas. While alone in my room, two men knocked, asking to inspect the smoke detector. I was nervous and asked them to come back when my boyfriend was present. However, about an hour later, while I was in the bathroom with the water running, they entered without waiting for a response or confirming I was ready. If it had been seconds later, they would have seen me completely naked. This incident has been replaying in my head since. The front desk was shocked and said this was not proper procedure—they should have coordinated a specific time. I requested a refund and was directed to the GM, Daniel, who gaslit me, saying that since I agreed to an inspection later, they had the right to enter, even if I was showering. He refused a refund, stating we stayed the full time, though we requested to leave early and were told only the GM could approve refunds—and he was away the entire time and only addressing the situation days after it happened. Don’t support this GMs business and stay safe.

The king room was spacious and comfortable Made use of the fridge and microwave in the room. It was very convenient to the Inner Harbour and Empress Hotel and other places in downtown Victoria. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

My room was very clean and quiet, and it was the perfect location for visiting my family and the sites I wanted to see. Except for one very kind and helpful gentleman, I found the rest of the front desk staff to be abrupt and almost rude. I felt like I felt like a nuisance rather than a guest. I found it inconvenient that there were no vending machines for snacks and drinks, but that was not a big deal. Finally, I understand that they do not want to be refreshing bedding and towels everyday, and I completely agree, but it would be nice if they popped into the room to empty the garbage cans and refresh supplies like coffee and other items, at least every other day. .
