Absolutely horrible experience. I had a 6.5 hour overnight layover at the Vancouver airport arriving 1:30am and I needed to be back at the airport 7am the next day for my flight. I had a very busy and important day so I booked myself a hotel and selected “Airport Shuttle Included” under the filter. I received two emails from Expedia “Best Western YVR has sent you a message”. The first email stated that after 4 am the shuttle was hourly. There was also a note stating to call the hotel to arrange pickup. The second email stated that the shuttle was available 24 hours and I needed to call the hotel to arrange pickup. I went down to the hotel shuttle area and waited till 2:05am and watched every other hotel shuttle come and go. I called the Best Western to inquire what was going on and was advised that there is no longer a shuttle available after midnight and they have no driver. I then had to call and book an Uber which took 35 minutes to arrive, cost me an extra $35 and I did not get to the hotel till 3am. The guy working on the front desk kept blaming it on Expedia and third parties and said there was nothing he could do, it was an issue to take up with the manager who wouldn’t be in till 9am the next day.
It is extremely misleading to book a hotel with shuttle available, receive two emails with instructions on how to get the so called 24 hour shuttle and then for no one to show up after you wait for the time AND also call the hotel.
