Centrally located hotel where many local tours start and end just opposite the hotel at the bus terminal. Located in the city centre, walkable to many eateries / restaurants and shopping street, easy access to public transport and near tourist attractions such as Artic Cathedral, IceBar etc. However, service at the hotel is lukewarm - front desk staff are not friendly and helpful, requested high floor but given room on level 3, gave wrong info on breakfast timing which was applicable for weekends only, resulting in us missing the breakfast time on Monday. One word "Sorry" was all we got. The bathroom floor is not heated, and the shower area has a funny glass panel that swings loosely - not sure what purpose it serves as it does not enclose the shower area, and water easily splashes out of the shower area.

Great location to easily walk to the main central area of the city as well as close to bars, restaurants and the meeting point for a number of tours. Clean & quiet, yet had a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to stay

The rooms were extremely comfortable. The buffet was exceptional and one of the best I have encountered in a comparable hotel. And it was very convenient for catching a Hurtigruten ship at the terminal right across the street.

Many Thanks to Clarion for an exceptional experience staying here. Asked for a room with a view - was appropriately allocated one on the 10th floor. Specifically Room 1019. It was spacious enough for the two of us, had a decent bathroom/ toilet and a fabulous view across the harbour into the mountains. The breakfast was a major highlight in this place. It was elaborate and tasty especially with chefs like Alex to lighten up the environment. We were sad to leave this place and hope to come by in the summer to catch the midnight sun. Best wishes!

The property was ok, but no friendly service with the exception of 2 staff members and they were awesome! No one jumps to help you here you’re kind of on your own. There’s no phones in the rooms so if you want something not only do you have to pay for it you have to go find it too. Never been to a hotel that didn’t offer you help or complimentary water. If you forgot something you’re going to the store 2 blocks away. There’s no gift shop and they don’t have any complimentary items that you would normally find at the front desk, toothbrush, toothpaste etc.

This hotel has a PROBLEMATIC overbooking policy. Regardless of how far in advance you book or pay, there is NO GUARANTEE that you will have a room upon arrival. If you're unlucky, you may be sent to a subpar sister hotel nearby. During our stay, we could clearly see other travelers experiencing the same frustration, evident from the looks on their faces. After more than 20 hours of flights and layovers, the last thing we needed was to be turned away and then forced to navigate an unfamiliar Arctic city with our luggage in search of the alternative hotel. If you're planning to visit for the Northern Lights, I recommend booking with Radisson Blu or Scandic instead. The Clarion seems to cater mostly to local business people and conference-goers, with a lobby often crowded with suited professionals. That said, the Clarion is otherwise an excellent hotel with top-notch amenities. The breakfast is fantastic, and the coffee machines are great. The housekeeping staff is the best we've encountered, and the hotel is impeccably clean. If it weren't for the dreadful overbooking policy, I would rate this hotel 6/5 stars, but unfortunately, this issue left a significant negative mark on our trip.

Stay at Clarion the Edge was nice, with pretty wide range of breakfast (very limited vegetarian options). One day cleaning team missed to clean our room but on speaking to reception they were quick to provide the service. All in all 4 stars for the overall stay.
