These folks took such great care of us and were really grateful. We had a very comfortable 1-night stopover, but when we tried to hit the road the next morning the only road out of town was closed due to winter weather and wouldn’t reopen anytime soon; the whole area was filling with semis. We went back to the hotel and the gal at the front desk recognized us. She was able to get us a good room rate and luckily they had rooms immediately available. We were checked back in and unpacking before 10am. We weren’t the only ones either - they were accommodating early check-in as many stranded travelers as they had space for. They were sold out that night. It was much nicer to be stranded in a warm room than an idling car. The gym and pool were really nice to keep us occupied and lots of food with Walmart right next door. Their snack bar in the lobby is also quite well-stocked. Every staff member was kind and friendly, and the guy who serves breakfast was exceptionally congenial - we wished we had more cash on hand to tip him. Breakfast had PLENTY of great protein options and flavored creamers. Will def stay again. Hopefully not due to being stranded tho.

We recently stayed at the La Quinta in Trinidad, Colorado, and had a wonderful experience! This hotel is dog-friendly, which was perfect for us and our two pups. Check-in was quick and easy, and finding our room was hassle-free. One of the highlights for our dogs was the on-site pet park – a convenient area for them to stretch and play before bedtime. Inside, the room was clean and comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. They even provided Dove soap, which smelled lovely. We ordered dinner from a nearby restaurant, and it was delivered directly to our room—a nice bonus after a day of traveling. The bed was cozy, and we loved that the window could open to let in fresh air. Breakfast was surprisingly great! After handing in our breakfast coupon, we were treated to eggs, hash browns, and sausage, plus options like French toast, six or seven cereal choices, and a DIY waffle station with red velvet waffles that were absolutely delicious. We also tried the blueberry muffin, which was incredible. Overall, my boyfriend, our two dogs, and I had a marvelous stay. Highly recommend for anyone traveling through Trinidad with pets!
