We really loved this place and wish we had more time to stay. We only stayed for the night and we got in late and left early but even in the dark you can tell the property is beautiful! The room we had was super cute, clean, the shower was so nice and check in was super easy and contactless. The only con I can even give would be if you are a light sleeper go for a 2nd floor room our room was not and in the middle of the night someone going up the stairs about scared me to death lol but once I realized what it was I don’t think it would have bothered me after that and I would for sure stay here again! The location to the National Park is also great!
This was a unique check in experience which is explained and easy to navigate. Beautiful location. Cute comfortable room and building. Loved my time there. Will definitely be back.

It was the most beautiful over night stay I’ve experienced in a very long time. I have nothing at all to say except good things. It was the closest to heaven I’ve ever felt and honestly have ever been. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and I know I will return to this extraordinary place. Thank you so much for having me and my mommy and for giving me some much needed comfort and joy reminding me that God is truly magnificent and very much alive. My heart overflows with gratitude. Magic took place during this one night stay. -Angell and Sheryl from across the state back in east TN.
The stay was amazing with a beautiful view. The only thing I could say was less than perfect was the doors. The main door would not latch unless you held it shut for a few seconds. It wasn’t the biggest issue ever but was a little annoying at times. The door to the room we stayed in could have used some things to help us feel more secure. What I mean by this is that the door had gaps above and below it and the frame. There also wasn’t really a lock on the door; it had a switch so that the keypad on the other side couldn’t be operated but it would have felt more secure with an actual lock. The property also has an amazing observation deck with a spectacular view the only issue is that if you go through the doors to the observation deck the only way back in is by going through the front door of the lodge there is no way to get back in through the door that leads to the observation deck. Overall an amazing experience but I feel like if the property felt a little more secure there wouldn’t be any other place I’d rather stay while in the pigeon forge/gatlinburg area.

Better management.
It was ok. Nice facility but its being managed from somewhere not local. I missed the check in instructions which were pretty detailed and wasn't what i wanted to do after driving and in the dark.
Had a coffee corner in the room but no coffee, dead spider in the sink and crumbs in the microwave. Nice area. The room was nice just not well managed.
We do plan to stay again now that we know what to expect when staying at Laurel Valley. I read the reviews on our way there and glad I had the heads up on no staff present, challenge on finding the chalet once we arrived as well as where the rooms are and getting code to unlock the door. Thank goodness we found a local number to call in one of the emails. The lady stayed on the phone until she directed us to the right building, room, and explaining lock mechanism. All this being said - we found the room to be great, bed comfortable, bathroom amazing, beautifully decorated, and view from covered porch looking out to the mountains was priceless. Ease and proximity to The Abbey in Townsend was a major plus. Our neighbors above us were very loud throughout the night which was no fault to owner. We couldn’t figure out all the construction and remodeling of the first building you come to - clearer signs would be welcoming to guests. Know ahead a time the walk from the parking area down to the chalet is steep and fairly long but worth it once you get to your room. I wish ya’ll the best. Hope to be back soon.

Disliked: Amenities
I liked the fireplace but there was no wood. We had to run out and buy it. The heater didnt heeat above 66. There was not any fireplace tools like poker little shovel etc. No water like most places give 2 waters. Only 2 decaf coffees. We like caffeine. Very disappointed. No one here to talk to about it.
This is a very non conventional, well appointed, scenic and peaceful place with loads of central areas for guests to enjoy! It’s very different from your ordinary B&B, resort or hotel.
Be sure you know what floor you require as there are three levels and no elevator. And know that though there are fireplaces shown and jacuzzi style tubs listed in some rooms, the owner or management request that you don’t use them. Having noted that as a heads-up, you can’t go wrong. The place itself and the surroundings are very charming and scenic! I’d go back for sure.
We had some difficulties getting the lock to operate and the door was hard to open. However, we enjoyed the accommodation. We would have liked having a toaster. Spectacular views!!
We booked the honeymoon suite specifically for the soaking tub. It was pouring rain on our drive to this place. On our way up we got a message about bringing your own water because you can’t drink their water and bring food - which we had. One of either and hadn’t eaten dinner. Also how to get in as there are no staff on site. Which means they give u a digital code then u have to use your thumb print (which I don’t like- none of your business what my thumb print is!) We get to our room - barely as there is no light inside the building and stairs to a narrow hall. There was 1 other person staying and of course had to be across the hall from our room. Use the digital code and thumb print Lalique again to get into the room only to find a very small room - NOT the honeymoon suite. NO soaking tub! Not to mention this place gives of vibes of every murder movie I’ve ever seen. We did arrive in the evening but it was creepy. We called hotels.com to try and get a refund as it wasn’t the room we paid for and didn’t know we needed food and water, again it was pouring rain, we had a rental car and the windshield wipers weren’t great and the road to this place is 2 land, windy and DARK. We ere places on hold while they contacted the hotel. They came back saying the hotel denied our refund request. I called the hotel direct and was told by the lady I spoke to she would talk to the manager as we had just booked the room 1 hour prior and never heard back.
It was amazing place. I would definitely stay again. It had everything you needed. Loved how historical it was.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The property could use a good sprucing up. I understand it is in the woods but it needs cleaning up, the pictures on Expedia look nothing like what I saw. In my room it seems the shower was an afterthought, a shower head sticking out of the wall over the jacuzzi. A shower mat would be a good idea as I almost fell while showering.
