Well l when i arrived did not know this hotel has been a homeless shelter for the last 2 years. It needs to be taken off this site and others.. a kind man at the Strathcona hotel said our reservstion was at the Pantages a few blooks away.

Not happy
Posted Oct 12, 2020 on HotelsWe arrived and were told the hotel had been turned into a shelter. The gentleman apologized and told us that our reservation had been sent to another hotel. We were dog tired and had to spend another $20 to go to another hotel. The alternate hotel was lovely but we had picked the Strathcona largely because it was a 3 minute walk to Union Station as we were moving to Halifax and had to be at the airport at 5am. We had to pay for a taxi 3 times instead of once. The man told us that because we had booked through Hotels.com, they didn’t have our contact information and could not give us advance notice. We have great sympathy and understanding of their situation however very disappointed that we were not notified by Hotels.com. We will be very hesitant to book this way again since the hotel is not given the ability to contact us is something happens.

I loved how clean and nice the rooms were. The bed was very comfortable
