First, I inquired whether there was an elevator and response was no, then was told only one flight of stairs and access to my room was four flights. I have knee problems and carrying luggage over all that was extremely difficult. The TV did not work and the tea kettle was broken. I tried to call from my room to the front desk and their was no answer (it was not late) only about 8 PM or so. Location is fantastic and the rooms were fairly nice and I am glad they stuck to the old style (it is a brownstone afterall).

Adjacent to a bar. Didn't like the flickering light in the bathroom but that cleared up. The temperature was 81f in the room and the thermostat changed nothing. Opening a window and turning on the ceiling fan cooled the room to 79f. Just assumed it was like any euro hotel. Slept ok. Staff was friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was easy. We were close to everything we were doing in Toronto. This is my second stay at this location and I really loved it!. The character of this hotel is fantastic!

The property is near a bar that is very noisy at night until 1:30 am. There was also a halloween party adjacent to our our room window that kept us awake most of the night.

Good value in a great neighbourhood.
It's not the Hyatt, but if you want an affordable room in the Bloor and Spadina neighbourhood, this is clean and comfortable and the service is great. In keeping with the theme of an old manor, the furniture is old and sometimes mismatched, and the springs in my chair had gone, but the bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, and I had the cutest little balcony to sit on overlooking the little residential street below. I'd stay there again for sure.

Unique setting. A room with 2 twins in the basement was near the underground subway, the bed mattresses were terrible and the tv didn't work. We were given a discount fir the inoperable tv.

Access was very inconvenient, stair only we were on 4th floor and are over 70 years old. No dining. Our room was across from the pub and it was unbearably noisy until 3am. It was a miserable stop on our journey
