The hotel itself was top notch. The reception desk was very helpful with checkin. They had a cloak room, so we had no stress when checking in & out, and the location was very accessible. I would not buy the breakfast again, however, as there were many options close by.

We loved the location. If you like to learn about Sumo, this is the perfect location for your stay. Around the hotel are easy dinner options, no lines and waiting times like with many other places in Tokyo. The breakfast was good. Many options to choose from. The room was quiet and was cleaned daily. Public transport access was great, just a 1 min walk from the hotel.

I like it because it's close to station, lots of restaurant nearby and family mart, daily housekeeping ;however, the room is quite small, you can hear the passing train and there's nothing to watch on tv

You can tell the hotel was quite old but the condition wasn't too shaby given the age. It's clean as you'd expect from most Japanese hotels and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked two rooms for six nights and the room for my parents had a blocked drain when we checked in, the staff was able to offer another room straightaway before they can attend to the drain issue. Ryogoku isn't a very popular area with tourists but the hotel is right next to the train station and only two stops away from Akihabara, so we can get around Tokyo quite easily. The downside is because of its proximity to the train station, the noise from the train is quite loud, so if you're a light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
