There were a couple of issues with the room… The fireplace wouldn’t work upon arrival, maintenance came right away to look at it and got it working. After turning it off for the night and turning it back on the next day we had to fiddle with the switch to get it to come on each time. After a rainy day of hiking, came back to the room to run a bath. Once I figured out how to adjust temperature and turned it for more hot water, it would not readjust to a cooler temperature and was straight hot water. My husband and I both tried readjusting the temperature, turning the top dial fully one way and fully the other, but the water temp remained extremely hot. I didn’t call down to the desk as I was cold and wet and just wanted to get warm. Shower worked fine. I did let front desk know when we checked out. Leslie, when we stayed at Black rock resort the same time last year, our bathroom had heated tiles. This room had the wall control unit for the heated floor, but it wouldn’t come on.

I love the ocean view though the winder in my room. The room is beautiful and clean. But there is no enough milk for coffee in the fridge.

While this property is amazing, staff very friendly/professional, great architecture and the location incredible there are a couple of niggly things to mention. 1) The internet is appallingly slow. I wasn't using it to stream movies, just typical day to day activities on my computer. The odd video on Facebook was the maximum demand I placed on the system. Having said this, maybe high-speed internet is not available in Ucluelet? It is after all very isolated. 2) Beware that housekeeping is provided only every 5 days. 3) The studio suites have next to no space to unpack anything. You will be living out of your suitcase. As mentioned, niggly things in a package that is really worthwhile. We really enjoyed our stay and would return in a flash.

Not happy with my room assignment. I was on the first floor facing trees and very little view of the ocean. In addition, the room had a connecting door through which I could hear the maid next door doing her cleaning. The door between the rooms needs to be more soundproofed. I left one day early. Also it took 2 visits from the maintenance staff to show me how to use the TV remote which had no numbers on it and worked very strangely. The door lock inside the room did not line up with the hole in the door jam. There were renovations going on and the workers got to park their cars nearer the front door than the guests. I would not stay there again.

Beautiful resort, no care for privacy.
The resort was beautiful and we had a fantastic time and I was very excited to go back until I realized that the gift card that has been left to my room had been done so through a complete breach of my privacy. My partners relative had contacted the resort to leave a gift certificate on our room - except the room was only in my name and he didn’t have that information. Whoever he spoke to at the hotel provided him with my full name! While his gesture was sweet and well intended, he doesn’t know me (we’ve never met) and you as a hotel don’t know me or the situation. This man could have been anyone. I don’t appreciate at all knowing that someone could call a hotel and get my personal details - to say I feel violated is an understatement. This trip was our first time away together and I had done extensive research on the area to make it extra special before settling on your resort, so the disappointment is astronomical to say the least.

Truly a surprise at how wonderful this place really was. A perfect romantic getaway or just somewhere to relax in nature. The room was spacious, clean and smelt wonderful! The staff were also very kind. Would love to come back. Only suggestion for staff is to have more takeout food or snacks available in the tuck shop for guests, there were limited options.

This is a beautiful property to have a restful and enjoyable time away. The room and surrounding property were fabulous. It has a heated outdoor pool, hot tubs, lounge, great restaurant and spa. Highly recommend.
