Bathroom floor needed cleaning. One bedcover was dirty. Elevator did not work - five flights. Thankfully they had one room available on the ground floor. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff did not speak English well and that posed a barrier. Outside night lighting was very poor. No signs to indicate where guest parking was. Homeless people in the neighbourhood.

The staff was accommodating. The rooms inside are updated and clean. The surrounding area was a little unsettling. No elevator due to maintenance and stayed on the 5th floor.

The hotel itself is great! Very fashion! But the area is not convenient at all. I felt unsafe outside. The neighborhood is very poor and nothing else except the McDonald is near. Thank goodness there’s a lovely park by the water but you have to drive .

The hotel is beautiful. Unfortunately the elevator wasnt working so it was a hard climb to the 5th floor with a bad knee. But the trains and street racing kept me up all night. When I went to the store I only walked a few feet and felt very unsafe so went back.

Superior Shores is an excellent revamp of a location with a long, sketchy, and sordid history that sadly they may experience some resistance because of. The proprietors however have renovated and made it a very nice place to stay. My room was clean and comfortable. Check in and out were easy and quick. Staff were friendly and willing to answer questions or engage in conversation. Even breakfast was well laid out and very good! Hopefully they can help change the reputation of the location!

I booked a room specifically because it was advertised as ground floor, plus I added a note to emphasize that we needed a ground floor room. The hotel sent me an email confirming that they could accommodate us on the ground floor. When we arrived to check in, there was no ground floor room available and we were assigned a second floor room and i was told that they had not received any notice that a ground floor room had been requested . I was referred to a sign on the desk saying that their elevator was out of service (this is a 5 storey hotel). When I said that we’d then have to go elsewhere, I was referred to a sign on the other side of the desk saying their policy was such that without 24 hours notice to cancel we would be charged for the room whether we used it or not. I showed the desk clerk my email from their hotel confirming that we would get a ground floor room. She apologized and said she’d leave a note for her manager. I felt intimidated into accepting a room that was not safe for my husband so as not to be charged for a room we couldn’t use. I was too angry to sleep at all. I strongly feel that what they did was not only unethical but illegal as they could not or would not provide the product or service they had promised. What if my husband (or another guest with a disability)had fallen on those stairs? Surely filling a 5 storey hotel without a working elevator is against fire regulations? Apparently that elevator hasn’t been functional for weeks.

Unfortunately, my visit coincided with elevator refurbishing so it was out of service. The laundry and phone were also out of service. The room itself was nice and I appreciated the continental breakfast.
