We stayed in the middle building, which is 3 stories and has NO ELEVATOR (we were told they were 'grandfathered in' so didn't have to put one in--they should do it anyway!!!). The 1st floor is UP 1 flight of stairs! Since we were on the 2nd floor, we had to drag our heavy suitcases up 2 flights. We were offered a luggage rack for our luggage, but what good does that do when you have NO ELEVATOR? We saw several seniors trying to drag their suitcases up and down the stairs. Their signs are extremely confusing, with arrows pointing every which way, but upon trying to exit the building, we got down to the first floor and there were no signs at all to say where the exit was. In an emergency, this is unacceptable. The room doors don't close unless you really yank them shut. There is no freezer in the fridge. The shower was VERY slippery. How hard would it be to put non-skid strips in???? DANGEROUS! Only warm water in the shower at 10 at night. 2 sinks, but only 1 had built-in soap dispenser, so what good is the other one? The ice machine was unplugged so we couldn't get any ice, which we needed since there was no freezer in the fridge. This property is old, and it shows. No breakfast was offered, either. For what they charge, I expect a LOT more. Including an ELEVATOR!!!

The staff was awesome. They don’t have complimentary breakfast anymore and that wasn’t made clear when we reserved. They have a little breakfast cafe they just opened the prices are reasonable and the people who work here are great.

The hotel was pretty good. But were told their breakfast was “unavailable” when we arrived. When traveling with kids, having continental breakfast is a must for us. Having to find somewhere for breakfast was very inconvenient.

Not a pleasant stay at all!!!

We booked a river view. This was the poorest river view I have ever seen, even with going out onto the balcony. We had to call the front desk as television not working she came down and fixed it. Also had to let her know the deadbolt on room door not working. We had to be switched to an upstairs room as none downstairs available. No help was offered to carry everything up the stairs after we packed our thing up to move. The bottom of the bathtub was disgusting. We had looked forward to a nice stay with a great view and were totally disappointed. The person working the front desk was not real pleasant either.

The redone rooms were beautiful, and the beds were VERY comfortable. The fan stayed on all night which for me is a big deal, and the price was great. The lobby is stunning as well. Very great choice in The Dalles.
