Although the buildings are dated, the grounds and location more than make up for it. And the buildings are clean - and our room MUCH more spacious than typical hotel or motel rooms. Cookies at check in, chips and salsa (well, those were ok) in the evening, and a very good breakfast spread. I will definitely stay again.

Beautiful grounds and charming, pristine rooms. Delicious breakfast and afternoon snacks, all included in the price. You can tell someone loves this property and takes care of it accordingly. Taos itself was a bit of a letdown—seems very economically depressed—but the hotel was lovely!

Nice place, good location. I would say dogs are tolerated rather than saying it is dog friendly. Lots of restrictions, more so than at other places we have stayed.

Home base for next trip to Taos!

What a wonderful motel! I only had one night, but this would be a great place to stay for a week while exploring Taos or the mountains. Loved it.

The wife and I had a great stay at El Pueblo Lodge. The room was spacious and the staff was friendly and helpful. And it had the best hotel breakfast which included New Mexican flavors. Highly recommend it.

Make sure you call the motel if you're bringing a dog. Expedia does not make this clear. Only certain rooms allow dogs. I didn't take advantage of any food or beverages advertised for fear of leaving my dog unattended, even though she is a perfect small travel dog. She had to sleep on the floor, glad I brought something for that. Disappointed and glad it was just 1 night. Nice retro vibe, otherwise.

Was nothing like represented in photos. Much older and run down. Room was not clean - bugs on floor, in bed between sheets. Bathroom floors dirty - bugs in corners - soap dish dirty. Everything worked - but poor maintenance and up keep. Bottom of bathroom door 3 or more inches short looked like it had been trimmed with an axe and finished by a beaver. Room also smelled like a wet dog. Place is very tired and lack of maintenance shows. The worst hotel I have rented on line in years. Should be max a 2 star rating. Would never stay there again.
