recent stay at Uptown Suites Extended Stay – Tampa/Riverview from January 30 to February 2. While the room itself was clean and comfortable, several service-related concerns made our experience less than satisfactory. One of our primary concerns was the lack of customer service and attentiveness to guest needs. For instance, we were required to bring used towels to the front desk in order to receive new ones and throw out our own trash. As guests in our 60s, we often use extra towels for safety on the bathroom floor to prevent slipping. Having to carry used towels across the hotel was inconvenient and did not align with the level of service we expected. Additionally, our room did not receive housekeeping service at all during our three-night stay. The hotel’s website states that they do. While we understand that daily housekeeping is no longer standard, we did expect at least one cleaning service during our visit. When we inquired about this at the front desk, we were simply told, "This is an Extended Hotel," which we found dismissive rather than helpful. Another issue was the excessive noise at night, making it difficult to rest. We were in Tampa due to a family emergency—my brother’s last-minute cancer surgery at Tampa General Hospital—and our exhaustion was the only reason we managed to sleep despite the disturbances. Lastly, our room lacked kitchenware, Not a big deal but might as well throw it in here.

Says they’re animal friendly, but they aren’t. We had three dogs and after hurricane Milton they told us we had to leave. Leaving us homeless after the hurricane

The front desk man was amazing. There was fecal matter on the bathroom wall beside the light switch. The shower handle fell off when we tried to take a shower. The AC did not cool the tiny room. The security side doors remained unlocked, no key was needed to enter the side entrances.

Everything was good except the service. Was very bad. Staff was uncaring and didn’t help with wi fi setting. They didn’t know how laundromat in the building worked. And weren’t warm or welcoming. Kitchen with no utensils even a knife spoon 2 cups and a pan would help to cook. Why even having a kitchen if there is nothing to cook with and a person goes for only 2-3 days. No one wants to invest in these things. In the last I remember extended stay offering the basics and a coffee maker that actually worked. We had a keurig that didn’t work and I called to reception in order to get it working and they said we will send someone over and they never came in to fix it. So I had to get coffee at the coffee shop 8 mins away. Very bad service, positive input was the room was clean and the beds were comfy and AC worked very good what was appreciated in that heat of florida.
