We arrived late, around 11:30 p.m., after a frustrating 4-hour ordeal with VRBO canceling our original accommodations. The check-in clerk was incredibly kind, which was a relief after such a long day. Unfortunately, things quickly took a turn.
Upon entering our room, I immediately noticed a cockroach on the end table. Although the staff moved us to another room right away, which seemed fine at the time, that initial experience stayed with me throughout the stay. It definitely wasn’t the best introduction.
A few smaller issues also added up over the course of our visit. At check-in, I asked about the pool hours and was told it was open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, when we went down at 8:15 p.m. the following night, we were told the pool closed at dark. The staff member who gave us this information seemed uninterested, which left us feeling disappointed and confused. Later, I asked a different staff member, who gave the same “closed at dark” answer, so the conflicting information was frustrating.
Additionally, the mini-fridge in our room had no barrier between the freezer and the fridge section, causing all of our cans to freeze and, unfortunately, burst open. This led to wasted food and money.
Lastly, the area around the waffle makers in the breakfast area was so sticky it was almost comical. It felt like a health and cleanliness concern that shouldn’t have been overlooked.
