The Grand Hotel is a truly unique, historic property. It lives up to its name, affording excellent dining options and updated rooms with spectacular views from its hilltop perch overlooking the Keelung River and city skyline.

The Grand Hotel Taipei is still Grand, but the people running it are NOT. With the exception of the housekeeping staff this property needs a management staff overhaul top to bottom. the written and verbal policy is hostile and unfriendly. Get a Swiss general manager and clean house.

The hotel is not well connected, quite a few people of the staff do not speak english, the pool is really inconvenient to reach. The room somehow did not feel homey. The hotel is beautiful but felt inconvenient especially for a western tourist

Biggest flaw is its location - being on a hill, it is either a shuttle bus ride (with 20 minute headways) or a 15 minute hike to the nearest MRT stop.
