The cleaning condition was not bad, but all the windows could not be opened, so even if ventilation was impossible, the smell in the bathroom was so bad that it was difficult to sleep

We stayed there for 7 nights during the December School Holidays. We are a couple with 3 kids, aged 4,7 and 10. We booked a family room with view. The room is not very spacious but reasonable with enough space to put our luggage spread at a corner. It also has a coffee table and 2 seater sofa in the room for a drink or simple supper at night. What we like about the hotel is the buffet breakfast daily although finding a seat is not easy. The view from the room faces either the interior of the hotel (buffet lobby area) or outside looking at terrace houses or shophouses. We are lucky to get one with good city view at level 12. Room cleaning auntie is friendly and helped us discard our broken luggage box. Only complain is the wardrobe is hidden behind the door and we only discovered it on the last night. Also, soundproofing is not that great. We could hear our neighbours snoring at night. For those travelling by MRT, exit using exit 4/5 in the XiMenDing station. The shaved ice dessert at level 1 is cheap and good. We only tried it out on the last night. It is also not cheap at $300 Singapore dollar per night for a hotel without any facility.

The hotel is conveniently located next to a train station and walkable to ximending pedestrian area. The hallways and rooms are a bit dark and old, but good place to stay if you’re just looking for a place to sleep. Location is unbeatable.

Worrying Hotel cleanliness
The most concerning part was - there was a dead cockroach in one of the two rooms we booked. And when I notified the staff on behalf, there was no follow-up actions nor response. Pillows provided in our rooms were flat type, and we were told there was no extra pillow available in the hotel. Room temperature was always 20 degree-C no matter how we tried to adjust the temperature.

The rooms are clean and staff is friendly. The bads: 1. WiFi does not work in the room. It is terribly slow. WiFi in lobby isn’t much better. 2. There are no shower hooks to hang your towels 3. The elevators are slow and always crowded 4. Not enough outlets in the room 5. The gym is in very sad shape. Only one out of the four tread worked and the rest of the equipment need a refresh

A good hotel with breakfast included. Most places downtown an easy walk and it’s very close to a subway (MRT) station. Nice quiet room. Food, transport and tickets to attractions in Taipei are inexpensive, but my hotel room itself was expensive.

Conveniently located above the Ximen MRT and across the Ximending night market. However, rooms are cosy and space is quite tight without any wardrobe (just 4 hangers). If you are spending most of the day out and just need a room to rest at night, this property is suitable.

This Hotel need a clean up
Great hotel location. The breakfast has a good spread but there it is chaotic due to the volume of guests in the morning. Room is average, the hotel looks good at the lobby level. The corridor and room cleanliness is very dirty and look run down. The Bathroom is not functional not even a hook to hang any thing. The shower gel and shampoo smells odd. Only the great location is a good takeaway.

Love the location of this hotel, such an easy walk from Ximen station and conveniently located among many shopping and dining. Hotel is decently well maintained too. The only down side was the air conditioning in the room. It was centrally controlled and there was no way to adjust the temperature. Not sure if the thermostat was correct, but it was constantly showing 19 - 20 degrees especially at night. The staff came by, tried to adjust in a 10 sec job before saying that if it doesn't work, the best solution is only to ask for more blankets.

The only excellent part is the location.
The best part of this hotel is all about location, and the individual building of this hotel. However, the rest of the facility and services provided are just par or below... Free Wifi - Worst of all. Provided wifi but it just cannot get to work properly, fail to login everytime or login without network..After 2 requests on help finally got a gentlemen came and restart the system, but after less than 10mins it just cannnot work properly again.. so mad that we pay and use our own network. Breakfast: Slightly above average, compared to those smaller hotels. Staff Service: Very weak services. The 7-11 staffs did better in this, at least they say 'hello' and thank you for visiting. An Warm and welcoming atmosphere is very important for any servicing line especially for Hotels - It's a temporary home for all whom visit. Cleanliness: Ok for us, but we see a lot of stains on the carpet along the corridors. Overall, Can Stay, if the price is good include breakfast.

Twin room is small but decent for 2 persons, not much space for 2 medium luggage. We went out shortly after we checked in and when we returned after 30 min, we could not open the room door. We asked a male staff who happened to be nearby for help. He also couldn't open the door and kept saying the door was locked from inside and kept asking if we were sure there was no one else inside the room (sounded eerie at that point actually! there were also some happenings at our other room that made us felt eerie when we discussed it the next morningl). We just had to keep insisting no one. He then said he send someone to check while we waited outside the room. Another male staff came shortly and after some back and fro to get some tools, he finally fixed it. Other than this, room was ok. Hotel staff are friendly.

Double room is extremely small, too small for 2 persons. Totally no space to move around. Room is dim. Bathroom is small. Our parents had no choice but to place the luggage in the bathroom at night. We had another twin room which was sligthly larger and brighter despite being cheaper when we booked it. We couldn't accept the small double room and paid extra to change the double room to a twin room for the next 2 nights.
