The Hotel Murano has interesting architecture and art on the walls, the restaurant has tasty food, and its location in downtown Tacoma worked for us. The staff was wonderful! The hotel itself is worn, threadbare upholstery in the dining room, dining tables that were so worn the varnish was tacky, and the dining room flooring was worn through. We couldn’t get the shower to turn off, although the staff was able to turn it off. I don’t think that there were many guests there which was too bad. It looked like the hotel hadn’t recovered well from the impact of Covid. I hope that things improve for the staff and hotel.

The area of location was ideal for my trip, but after checking into the hotel, my expectations weren’t met as far as the rooms looking nothing like the ad on Expedia. The overall hotel was nice, like the lobby and bar area, but the rooms were outdated with scratched, old-style furniture and the restroom lighting was horrific as well. I don’t think I will be returning to the Murano. Save your money and spend the extra bucks to book at the Marriot down the street.

At one time this was a nice hotel. Now it’s showing signs of neglect. While clean, the furniture has dings and closets have screws coming loose. The carpets are getting worn. Top it off only 2/3 elevators were working which was a disaster mid morning that resulted in waiting for 3-7 elevators full to pass before you could get on one. That said, it’s clean, comfortable and quiet. The glass decor is beautiful and interesting.

Someone was smoking weed all night our room was hot boxed. Our room was by all 3 of the elevators it was Soooo loud I didnt sleep at all.. Also $28 to park in The parking lot?? In this economy?? Might have got some sleep if someone had a bottle opener but nobody had one…

I booked this hotel for only one night. Upon arrival found no carts to help me carry my luggage in (I was travelling alone and continuing to a different location the next day so I had some luggage). There is no valet service and a self park parking lot attached to hotel that you have to pay for using the machine. The room had obvious signs of wear and tear. The coffee they give you in the room was awful and the little machine terrible. The direct tv had no weather channel and the tv itself was like 32 inches. Just a very sub par hotel which advertises like it's upscale. It is not. The Seattle Marriott on the waterfront..THAT is an upscale hotel that has excellent customer service. Sorry Tacoma. This experience not great.

The next time I'm in Tacoma, I will choose a Marriott instead. The property was acceptable overall, but there were some issues. The room was generally clean, but there were stains on the floor, the bathroom faucets were wobbly, and the faceplate on the shower was loose. Additionally, the staff at the front desk did not come across as very professional. On a positive note, the lobby was updated, clean, and well-maintained. The bar and restaurant were OK too. The area seemed quite safe and was only a couple of blocks away from the waterfront, which you can reach in about ten minutes on foot. However, I would discourage families from staying here. The property features numerous nude artwork scattered throughout, including some in the rooms. Moreover, the hotel attracts many business travelers, which might make children feel out of place.

The lobby area is nice and smells great but the room was not what I expected after seeing an 8 star rating. It smelled so musty as soon as I walked in. There were cracks on the tub. I had the AC to 68/69 and woke up sweating. I normally sleep with the AC on 73 at home in Florida and I’m fine. The rug looked dirty. House keeping came everyday to tidy up which was nice. I did enjoy the red light lamp at each bed stand but the smell of the room really disappointed me more than anything. I wish the rooms smelled like the lobby area.
