Hotel lobby looked nice and was clean. Front desk staff were friendly. Room looked nice, but the shower must not have been updated as there was mold present and the grout and tile looked pretty bad and needs to be redone. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. Breakfast buffet was expensive in my opinion and just okay with limited options. I thought I had paid extra on my reservation for the breakfast to be included, but was not on my reservation upon checkin. Hotel was in easy walking distance (7minutes) to wharf and Opera House. The first night there, a band played somewhere outside and was very loud until 11pm. The other two nights there, it was quiet. We were on the 15th floor and had asked for a quiet room.

We were just a few blocks from the cruise terminal, The Rocks, and the Opera House. Plenty of places to enjoy food and music. Everything we wanted was nearby. They have a program to give you a discount for skipping daily maid service. We are always spread out and don't want to be interrupted, so that was a bonus. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Rydges Australia Square is in an excellent location to get to and to explore Sydney. The interior is nicely designed and clean. That said, we were disappointed that the King room we had booked was far too tiny for 2 people to stay in for several days. Ver got a Queen room upon request that was far bigger (which in itself is weird) but we’re still disappointed. Most annoying was the breakfast. While the food options are fine, the restaurant is clearly understaffed, and it’s also too small for this size hotel. One coffee machine didn’t work for two of the three days, which led to long waits and poor coffee. Frequently food offerings are empty or no cutlery available. All up an average stay - but we wouldn’t rush back.

Good central city location

Hotel is in great location in the city and easy walk to harbor for opera house or Royal park/gardens. We drove from airport, which was a challenge given location and traffic. Parking is in local paid garages and is expensive. Easy Uber in and out.

The Rydges Hotel was close to the cruise terminal, the harbour front, ferry, and The Rocks. The staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good with food variety. The wifi worked well and the bathroom shower stall was very nice. Compared to other nearby hotels it was less expensive, clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.
