I was in room 232 and it sounded liked I was above a laundry and the sound of a drier was going all night and all morning. I had to put my headphones in to be able to get to sleep as it was too loud

Great other than than the heating situation.
It was a lovely family stay, in a suite room. we were cold though, I had to ring housekeeping in the morning regarding the heating as the radiators hadn't come on. So they brought an electrical radiator which didn't do anything to be honest. We were told the heating was on a timer. You would think this time of year the heating would most definitely have come on in the morning.

Beautiful hotel, our room was immaculate. The shower was amazing. Breakfast was busy as we stayed during school holidays but the staff were excellent at replenshing everything. I would highly recommend this hotel. Very convenient for Alton Towers.

Lovely hotel
Jane on reception was fantastic with our small kids and gave them all cookies on arrival! The family rooms were spacious and clean. Our kids loved the breakfast buffet and the pool.

Poor inattentive service
Overall room was nice and clean. Service in the bar area was slow, not very attentive and extremely robotic. Waited ages to get served at the bar although 3 staff were behind it - but seemed to be serving other areas of the restaurant. One guy was making cocktails for other tables but was so slow and when he was the only one in the bar area did not apologise or say someone will be with you - you just ended up watching him make drinks for someone else.

The way to our room required us to go through three heavy fire doors and it was not helpful with a pram, small children and two big suitcases. We could have been allocated a room with better accessibility.

The hotel overall is good but I would not stay here again as I found their swimming pool disappointing. It was the main reason for staying there with the family. It’s not clear on their website it just saying open until 9pm. Turned up at 8pm after long drive to hotel and they told the children (aged 11 and 14 with advanced swimming/racing skills) they could have 10 discretionary minutes as it was adults only. On Saturday morning we wanted to go for a swim. Got down there and the pool was closed from 10am until midday for toddler swimming lessons. Not happy. Hotel should not have extra star if the pool isn’t available to paying guests! We gave up using their swimming pool facilities. Changing rooms were not clean either but if you don’t swim or gym the hotel is fine.

Poor bar management
The stay was lovely very busy upon arrival but reception staff did their best. I was disappointed with the lack of choice of drinks at the bar, for such a quality hotel to run dry at the pumps for every single option of beer/larger is poor management with only bottle left, even the mixers where non existent. Otherwise well done.
