Nice room. Easy walk to castle and town for dinner and shopping. Had restaurant in hotel, but need reservations. At 7pm they were turning people away. Didn't use the pool or other amenities. Parking is either in the courtyard or around the side & back. Pay front desk and register on machine was easy.

While I was on a train to Stirling to check-in, at about 2:30pm. They emailed me and told me that my booking was cancelled due to a previous nights guest smoking in the room and they wanted to do a deep cleaning of the room. Then they tried to arrange for another hotel for me in Dunblane which is 30 mins outside of Stirling. We had no vehicle so this wouldn’t work for us. So we went to a nearby hotel in Stirling.

Very cool building, in an old high school. Unfortunately they sold me a king bed which was just two twins pushed together and the staff were fairly unapologetic about it. Lacklustre hotel for its reputation.

We did have a lovely stay at the Stirling Highland Hotel the lobby and communal areas were all tastefully decorated and welcoming. We had an evening meal which all four of us enjoyed the breakfast was very good with a good variety of food which was replenished whenever they ran low. The only downside was the bedrooms were a bit tired especially the bathrooms which in my opinion need some TLC rusty taps wonky toilet seat and grubby grouting.

Brilliant hotel in the heart of Stirling

The hotel is in a great location, just down the road from Stirling Castle, and the Church of the Holy Rood, and the old prison. Decent parking. The rooms are nice, with big beds! The staff are super friendly and helpful, both at the reception and in the restaurant. Food is excellent! We asked for a cot, which were told was in our room, but it wasn't there. When we told the reception, they brought it immediately. The only other annoying thing was that we were on the mezzanin floor with no lift access, which is a bit inconvenient when you have a child.

very friendly staff and we were recommended a great place to have dinner, Port Cullis, which was walking distance from the hotel. The hotel was very charming, amazing that it was built in the 1100"s.

Terrible…. Dirty and tatty.

Hotel and room was tatty and dirty Duty manager had no authority to help. Bathroom disgusting …. Wall paper peeling. This is certainly NOT a 4star hotel!!! Would not recommend. This needs sorting … Whole room smells of sweat….pillows smell… no supplies just empty containers. Heating on and window open ! Window looks out into another bedroom…
