Nice hotel in St Pete

Galaxy hotel is perfectly located near everything that downtown St Pete has to offer. It is walking distance to shopping, dining, and the waterfront. It is a simple hotel with not too many frills, but very clean and accommodating. The room is spacious and we had beautiful views of the water. The bed was firm and bouncy and not the best quality, but the pillows were nice. The room was very clean, I like the tile floors and the slippers and robe they provide. Albeit there should've have been 2 sets since we were 2 people staying but that's not really that big of a deal. There is a little cafe in the lobby, but that's about all there is that is extra.

Randy at the front desk and the location were great. Now some negative things. These things are mentioned on the website as open but are not. Restaurant not open. Rooftop bar not open. No gym. No business center. No snack or forgotten item store. No daily housekeeping service. Only 1 coffee provided in room. No washcloths in room. Bedding not up to high end hotel standards. Confortable but not the best. Sleeper couch stuffed into room but did not fit. You can tell its not run by professional hotel management like Marriott or Hilton. Lots of little things lacking that are normally found in a nice hotel. We got a good price but if we were paying top price for gallery room we would have been very unhappy. No chairs on room balcony. Otherwise pretty lobby and clean new hotel. They have a long ways to go to reach top status. Hopefully they make it.

Living room had bugs crawling on the floor. Crumbs on dining room table. Bathroom Has NO hooks/bars to hang towels in the bathroom. One wash clothes for a party of 3? No box of tissues. Shower has mold. Shower does not drain I showered in a puddle. The bedroom has NO drawers. Where do I put my clothes? For the over price I paid this was not worth it.

This was a nice property, convenient location. The area felt very safe. Nice hotel and friendly staff. Randy was very personable. The only con was the parking which was very limited. We weren't told about the free parking area on check in and ended up paying $40 to park the first night.

We stayed on the 9th floor, the view was great. The room was very spacious. We did have an issue with the room and let the front desk know on checkout. Randy the front desk manager, without us asking reached out to us later and went above and beyond to compensate us for the issue. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The location and staff is what makes this property worth it. Yes, it’s expensive for a glorified motel 6 but compared to other hotels in the area it’s still worth it. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. You can hear your neighbor or anyone in the hall. The water is lukewarm and doesn’t get hot. But still all of that the location is worth it. Just keep in mind it’s a no frills but clean place to sleep. And try Still water Tavern! There food is amazing!

March 13-18, 2025 stay

Upon check-in we were told dining wasn't available and under construction. When making reservations there was no mention of this on website. Our room 905 smelled horrible and odd. Not to be rude but it smellsd as if the carpet had urine embedded or somewhat of a nursing home smell. Upon entrance the small coffee shop to the right look to be with minimal purchase items but nobody was ever there so we would need walk outside for coffee. The one gentleman that had a black and gray facial beard and mustache, I do believe he was the owner and was rather rude in regards to zero communication as we checked out. He was disheveled which I understand it was early however when I stated Inam checlking out, I asked for a receipt. He never acknowledge me, looked annoyed and handed me printed receipt. When he handed it to me he never said Thank you or anything at all. I work in the restaurant industry and with the public every day and know he should have had better customer service. I just spent $1,400 there to stay for five nights and I would have expected a minimal Thank you for staying. This hotel is in prime location however I think it needs serious help with management, customer service and amenities. If foresee it being under new management or become a new hotel with knowledgeable ownership!

Very unhappy with this hotel. I will not stay with them again. Toilets back up repeatedly so you have to go downstairs to the lobby restroom. You can't even flush liquid without it backing up inside the room. The hotel did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation other than "sorry about that." The manager couldn't even be bothered to return calls. Very disappointed.
