I was in town for a funeral and chose GrandStay because it was close to the church and close to downtown dining, etc. Check-in was good. Room was spacious & clean. However, moments after arriving, the room smelled like marijuana. I walked into the hallway & it was extreme. Other guests were commenting on the smell. I had to initial that I would not smoke in my room. Does this not apply to marijuana as well? It was disgusting! I called the desk and asked to be moved. A staff member came to our floor with some kind of spray & I was moved to another room. My second room was not nearly as nice as the first, but it did not smell like a dispensary! Overall, the hotel was good. There was an average breakfast & the place could use some updates, but I would stay here again if in the area.

Room was dirty, crumbs in the couch and chair, all over the floor, crumbs in the silverware holder in the kitchen drawers, dirty dishes inside the dishwasher, under sink cabinet full of dead bugs and crumbs. Our bed found dead bugs and lots of hair, mattress had blood stains and other stains. Bed was hard like sleeping on the floor. The top blanket was an old ripped curtain. The air vents were black. Overed in black mold and tons of dust. Whole facility smelled like weed and cigarettes. Swimming pool was tiny. Nothing inside this building was as pictured online. We complained to the check in staff and she didnt care about how dirty our room was she told us cleaning staff would be here in the morning, im sorry but thats too late, they get here at check out time. No good that did us. Toilet was child size, sat almost on the floor. Only good part was the air conditioning worked. 0 out of 5 stars

Bad shower

We were pretty happy with the room and the amenities but when we showered the next morning, the shower was not good. We had terrible water pressure hard to manage the temperature of the water and the tub filled up with water while we were showering. That was really the only disappointing thing about our trip there

Sorry i might have to say.. to much information term. Hetting a room for a night was just a need. I have been very stressed at home and life and wanted to spend some alone time with my girlfriend. I am a man and i felt that i needed to be held for a night. I have roommates at my home. My mother is dying stage 4 brain cancer. My car needs repair and wont make a 84 miles trip south to see my parents. My lease at apartment ends in 2 months. Im falling apart. So i asked my girlfriend to help sign us up for a room for a night. Shopping. Splurge on foods and snacks. Cuddle and talk. Grandstay was a very good price and good location for what things to do near by. Walk around lake George. Amd other areas along the Mississippi River. What i didnt like... the vent in the tv room area rattled. But having a AC unit felt better to have on in this heat. Down side... i should have brought my own bed sheets and pillows. Yes everything was ok but you know ... over all i still give grand stay 5 stars. I felt better by morning. Thank you grand stay. I hope to book another night soon.

This was absolutely the WORST hotel I’ve ever booked!!! I don’t know how in the world it had 8.6 out of 10….People were trying to break in a car outside the hotel. Sketchy people working on cars in parking lot. Room reeked of smoke and it was listed as a nonsmoking hotel. Room was dirty, old and furniture and bedding was stained. By far the worst experience. Ended up staying at a Hampton Inn.

I stayed on 1st floor handicap accessible room. Room was good. No hairdryer and bathroom could have had hooks for used towels. But overall good room for price. Would stay again.
