The thermostat in our room was stuck on 72 degrees (very low heat), and was unable to be raised. This forced everyone in the room to be super cold all night and to have to sleep layered in extra clothing (hoodies, sweaters, etc) in order to keep from freezing. Also, the oven was dirty and I had to clean it prior to cooking my Thanksgiving meal. Additionally, there was food, apparently from a prior guest, left in the cabinets—which indicates to me that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned between rentals. Very disappointing, considering the caliber of the hotel that The Residence Inn is suppose to be. Checkout was also at 12pm, but the housekeeper attempted to enter the room at 9:30am, and had to be redirected. All very unacceptable. Lastly, the room was advertised as a ‘fireplace suite’, yet upon inquiring about purchase of fireplace logs to try and warm the room, we were advised that none were available for purchase at the front desk, as no shipment had yet come in for the season (the low that evening was about 40 degrees). The only decent feature about the stay was that the breakfast was really good. Otherwise, not at all as great of an experience as I expected, unfortunately.
