Whereas it is a cute motel, there were a couple of disappointing things. The floor of the room was dirty. My wife wore a brand new pair of white socks and they were black within a few minutes.
Second, the foam insulation along the door cheapened the otherwise cute ambiance.
Third, the smoke detector was missing..
Finally, there was no internet and zero phone service with our carrier—obviously my issue is not the phone service, but since there was no internet then we were unable to communicate with anyone.
We were looking for a place to stay for 1 night on our way to another destination. This was one of the cheaper places to stay, and I'd stay there again. The rooms were small, but clean and quiet. They had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine.
The room was nice, clean and had a comfortable bed. Also very convenient to RRG, hiking, etc

We liked the room, the staff at the Daniel boon gift shop were very friendly and pleasant. One thing that was an eye soar was an old camper and an old ford explorer with flat tires, both took up parking space and not a lot of room to park our motorcycles and trailers. Their were 4 other couples who trailered motorcycles at the sametime. We all we're told someone would be their to let us know where to park, and no one was their. So the next day Monday we were told by the lady that lives their our trailer needed to be move by 7 am Tuesday because the garbage truck will be their at that time. If the camper and the ford explorer were moved,it would have provided better looking/views and parking.
We loved this cabin style motel. We walked across the street to food and a bar and general store. The room has a fridge and microwave and some people were fishing the river right outside the door for bass. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but we would still stay there again. It does have tv with cable, HOT water, and great water pressure. AC worked well. We did not have any cell service at all and there is no wifi, which was great for us for the weekend but may be something to plan for. Definitely go to Walden Lodge and hike Red River Gorge and the Crystal Kayaking at the Gorge Underground was super fun.
First of all the room smelled… like cedar, the very thing the walls are made of. You can’t do anything to remove the walls?! We also had a bug in our room. Yikes. I would have expected that surely you’d rid the entire forest of them for your rooms, or at least have someone on standby should one sneak in. Quite unacceptable. The cell phone service was extremely spotty and you offered no WiFi. But it’s the middle of nowhere, do better! I had to actually spend quality time with my boyfriend… Really the worst part of our weekend getaway.
Now aside from all those ridiculous sounding things. Truly we absolutely LOVED our stay here. It was perfect and cozy and all around wonderful. I wish we could have spent more than one night. We were so relaxed. I would choose a lodge like this over a run of the mill hotel any day. Even the giant male mosquito made for a highly entertaining 10 minutes as we tried to wrangle it. The BBQ spot directly across the street was delicious with the sweetest staff. As well as the Daniel Boone Coffee Shoppe, the outside patio made for a lovely enjoyable breakfast.
Smelled like midew and dirty mop water, small room and area aeound hotel was all weeds and unclean. pictures on website do not match hotel surroundings.
Located in the middle of most attractions in the area really nice rooms only down side (possible upside depending on the person) is little to no cell phone service

Very quiet, outdoorsy cabin-like lodge. Affordable pricing, friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again if I visited the natural bridge state park!
