This is an older hotel that has been remodeled with a mid-century modern flair. I quite enjoyed my stay and I was happy to see the hotel parking lot full when I left in the morning.

First and last time to stay here

First time staying at LuLu front desk was friendly but the room was gross, the towels were all stained, bed sheets a bit cleaner but could tell mattress was very old, bathroom door was nasty, with hair and who knows what stuck to it, sink was really gross, light and fan would never shut off. Could not get much sleep, first woke up to a bug crawling in my ear, then at 2am heard commotion in the parking lot. Went outside to see a couple of guys talking and then quickly get in there cars and take off, one came back and went to a room. (assuming they were in the middle of a drug deal) not a great location, much better options up the street. I guess my first clue should have been on the sign of the hotel where it says 24/7 security. After a restless night at the hotel, I was hoping for a good breakfast, but another disappointment. Cereal, yogurt, toast or a waffle in the tiniest breakfast area. I highly recommend you find somewhere else to stay or an AirBnB for sure.

LULU Experience

The hotel is what the pictures show. It’s an older property but it’s adorable with the retro fridge and microwave in the room. Refrigerator was cold. Beds were comfy but would recommend you bring your own pillow if you don’t like stiff pillows. Shower was dated but the water was hot and the shower allowed for adjustments in pressure. We would stay there again.

Stayed here as the family enjoyed the Gila Forest activities. Staff were great for the entire stay. Wish they had an open pool, but it was a great stay after hiking about in the Gila.

This hotel is in a convenient location on the east side of Silver City. In the 1960s, this would have been an excellent hotel. Now, it is a slightly updated version of a hotel from the 1960s, showing many signs of wear that the owners have tried to cover. The toilets are small, low, and rocking with a glued together handle. The bathroom had a nice, new tub and shower, but stains on the walls around the new tub are disturbing. Trash nor any room service was provided the three nights we stayed there. Trash was also not removed daily from the outside cans. The $150 hold on the room that still hasn't been released is ridiculous for a hotel of this caliber. (We checked out yesterday, the whole room was charged the first night in addition to the $150.) I appreciated the fresh coffee in the lobby and the kindness of the staff. I also appreciated the price. The outdoor seating and the ice machine were nice. The AC was loud and rattling, but the filters were fairly clean and the temperatures were good.

Friendly front desk employee greeted us and was attentive to our needs. No hiccups. Room is spacious and clean with microwave fridge and coffee pot. Reasonable rate makes this an excellent choice all around.

Very clean room. The little refrigerator and microwave were vintage in style and cool. Walls a little thin. Overall a very nice place to stay. Staff was friendly. Not much of a continental breakfast but close to places to eat. Will stay with them again. Great price.
