Oh yes. They offer you a 'promotion' for lounge access which includes transportation within 3 kms. When you do need that option they tell you you needed to give them 24 hours prior notice (and this is after checking you in for a one night stay...) I would rather go to another property next time. The club lounge was empty and felt desolate to be honest. There was a bar and when we asked for some drinks they needed to fetch someone to prepare some basic drinks which did take a while. I'm not sure they were really prepare to handle international visitors to be honest (or people to consume at their bar for that matter...) Do try and avoid the club lounge access; it is irreparably expensive and not really worth the cost.

The worst 5 Star hotel in Asia and probably ly one of the worst globally. The hotel management lacks complete awareness of customer service standards. The staff is completely ignorant and unreliable in their attitude to service.

very unpleasant check out experience
Upon checking in at the hotel, I unfortunately encountered an error made by the staff. While the situation was eventually resolved and clarified, I faced difficulties when picking up my invoice at the front desk. The male staff member gave me a hard time regarding the previously quoted price and questioned why they should not charge me more. This experience was highly unpleasant and unexpected from a reputed five-star establishment.

I like the glass artist Chihuly’s art works. The hotel is quiet, lighting design is perfect, bedding is super comfortable…… I will say this is the best in Shanghai that I have experienced.

I have been staying at the hotel many times when I am in Shanghai. It is in the city center and convenient. It was relatively newer hotel few years ago. However the service was not good to a five star St. Regis standard. No room was available when I was there at 1. Front desk said they will inform me when the room was ready. I waited 1 hour plus but no message. I have to check with the front desk again and they found a ready room for me. That was 15 pass 2 so passed hotel checkin time. No welcome or thank you said when checkin and out. Room temperature was not right and electronic window shade had a loud squeaking sound.

Manager and team are superb!
Just a quick weekend getaway after COVID travel restrictions were lifted. Stuart-Wayne, the manager, and his team took great care of us! Professional and warm is an important combination in hospitality, and the St Regis does this very well!

Old hotel needs refreshing
The rooms are large and comfortable. The downside is that the hotel is old and it is felt on everything. The breakfast is really not to the standard and needs urgently a review and refresh.
