Nice getaway

Check in was really smooth, The lad on reception (Joe) we think is amazing, friendly and chatty and a credit to the hotel Our room was cramped so wouldn't stay longer than 1 night but the bed was clean, bathroom smelt strongly of tobacco which was awful

Good check in but staff not able to show disability parking times.plus on booking it says you have car parking when you dont and charge £8 to park so very far away this is not acceptable for people with a disability The entrance is excellent but even with the no smoking there was always someone smoking on the steps. Lift access was first class but the final thing's to be aware of Pigeon muck everywhere on outside seating windows require immediate cleaning and we found no availability for afternoon snacks and this led us to go elsewhere for all our meals something the company should look into.we found the bathroom poor a blocked sink low cold water pressure and as were disabled a large step in and out of shower/bath would be better with a walk in shower

The hotel has character

We stayed -1 level with window, room was clean and basic. Getting from the lift to the room was a maze of corridors. Breakfast was basic and didn’t think worth the £10. However would stay here again as the staff were friendly, Big shout out to Paul the linen guy who showed us a short cut to the lift from our room.

Amazing building, but a run down hotel...

Amazing old building, with a original grand staircase, lots of history. But the hotel is run down, with some interesting policies. Only 2 pillows on the bed, I have nasal condition, I ask for not get an extra pillow, but they would not supply me with any. So I had to go out and buy some... I've never in my life had to do that. Staff were OK, but do to a lot of international staff members it was a struggle communicating sometimes. I would not recommend this hotel, I would never stay there again...
