Nice modern room with views across the harbour and comfy bed. Food offering was average and enjoyed my Cumberland sausage but my husband had the pie which wasn’t very hot and the beef was chewy. The dining room and bar are a bit soulless even though recently refurbished. Bit taken aback that we had to pay for a cooked breakfast, should have been included in the room rate, it was expensive enough.

Great hotel with lovely staff. Easy for bus transport and parking a car. Quiet location but very scenic. Hotel is problematic for people who have mobility problems due to steps and stairs. We loved being in this beautiful area of Scalloway.

Paying nearly £130 night the least we expected was a decent breakfast, a bedside light on both sides of the bed and cleaning of the room every day. Instead we had to ask for a light , cleaning was done 3 days a week only and breakfast was help yourself to the cheapest bread still in plastic wrapping or cereal in their boxes. Our room had a bright street light immediately outside so it was impossible to sleep even with buying a sleep mask. We asked to change rooms but never heard back. Travelodges have had better and while we appreciate that island life has difficulties this was a real rip off.
