Great historic hotel in Savannah

We had a wonderful time. The staff was exceptional, a shout out to Jamaica at the front desk, the bar tender and the chefs who put love into everything they do. The building is dated (1850’s I think) but what would you expect in historical Savannah and it most certainly added to the charm. The location was incredible, close to everything riverside and there was a spacious grass area right across the street if you bring your fur babies like we did. The room was clean albeit a little worn and we had issues figuring out the shower since it had two heads (pressure was a little weaker than what we like as well), but overall it was an excellent stay and we will definitely book again when we come back to the area.

This hotel was superb! Front desk folks really nice! Really asked lots of questions to get us in the best room to fit our needs. Couldn’t ask for more. Parking was easy! Beds so comfy! Excellent breakfast and location the best for River St shopping and eats. Highly recommend!

I was really looking forward to getting some rest after a long day and night of driving, so I was disappointed that my stay didn’t turn out to be as restful as I’d hoped. The hotel itself was convenient, the staff was excellent, and the room was clean. Check-in was smooth, and everything seemed promising at first. Unfortunately, I was woken up around 7:30 AM by a loud group of guests talking right outside my first-floor window, where the hotel has a courtyard dining area set up for guests to enjoy breakfast. I could hear every word, and despite trying, I wasn’t able to fall back asleep. There were also repeated loud noises from the nearby stairwell door slamming, which made it even harder to rest. It’s unfortunate that the noise made it so difficult to get adequate sleep, especially after such a long trip. I hope the hotel considers some soundproofing or layout adjustments to help future guests have a more relaxing experience.

The best staff! Warm, friendly, caring, knowledgeable, considerate… We were visiting Savannah for the first time (from California) and we felt right at home. We loved social hour with the staff and other guests. Breakfast was great. It was a wonderful experience.

The hotel was overall great, but the front desk should be occupied at all times. A brief wait is fine if someone needs to step away, but several times I waited for a few minutes before an employee showed up. If it’s a staffing issue, perhaps place a sign that says “Be right back” so guests know it won’t be long to wait.
