Romantic getaway
Check in was good. Booked a room with king size bed, but was put into a room w 2 beds. Not as romantic as I’d liked it to be. There was a funny smell to the room.

Very nice hotel, clean, has good charm. Staff very friendly and professional. The shower was weak, and the AC was constantly fluctuating between very hot to very cold, even though the thermostat was set to a consistent 70 degrees. Breakfast was ok, not great.

Hotel was very nice - facility and individual rooms were attractive and furnished elegantly. A lot to see and do in the immediate area if you are able to walk a bit. Unfortunately we are somewhat disabled and couldn’t take advantage of the area. Parking close to hotel is very limited although there is a parking garage about a block away with unlimited parking for the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Eh- would not repeat this experience
The front desk staff seemed less than pleased to do their job, which is, by definition, hospitality. The two young women (one day shift, one night shift) were just shy of being unfriendly and displayed an attitude of barely tolerating having to speak with the guest (me). When I contacted the desk to let them know a dirty wash rag had been left in the shower, the night time desk clerk said--oh. Well. Sorry about that. The dining staff were amazing and beyond personable. The hotel needs an update, especially for the price paid. The pillows - well. Bring your own. It's further out from river street than you'd think, so if walking is an issue, pay the extra money for something closer to the water.

Outstanding performance!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn & Suite. The facility was very clean and in an orderly fashion, the front desk individuals were true professionals ensuring that we were process quickly. Provided us with area map and identified nice restaurants within walking distance. Our room was really clean, orderly and comfortable.
