Nice large rooms with relaxing patio- Cute retro small ref w/nice sized freezer and microwave- Great location convenient to what we wanted to do- one negative is there was only 1 desk chair & 2 people in our party ( but room holds 4) Really need a 2nd chair at a minimum

Wonderful!

My partner and I both REALLY enjoyed our stay at The Golden Host Resort! Our room was a nice size with a nice size upstairs balcony overlooking the pool and it was nice to not have a carpeted floor. The heated pool was a bonus as was having one of the oldest Tiki bars in Florida right there onsite. Check in was easy and the staff was nice. Overall a great stay at a great price!

Quiet pool area was nice to relax and catch up on emails! No disturbances! The property looked beautiful lit up at night, nicely decorated with palm trees, and Tiki style decor! We definitely will stay here again!

The stay was very nice! The best part of the hotel is the pool area! The front desk people were friendly and helpful. The young girl at the desk was so very nice, she printed some emails for me which very nice of her. I wish I remembered her name. Definitely recommend!

Charming 1950s roadside motel with a wonderful outdoor heated salt water pool and very pretty pool area. There are thatched roof "palapas" to sit under, comfy beach beds, and lounge chairs for sunning yourself. Comfy beds, crisp white bed linens, good hot water and water pressure in the showers, microwave and fun "retro" style fridge with freezer in room (so we could keep ice cream and cold drinks). This little resort, founded in 1951, takes you back in time and boasts the oldest Tiki Bar in Florida, where we enjoyed the live music. Free tea & coffee in the lobby and the front desk staff, cleaning staff and bar staff bent over backwards to be helpful and welcoming. This hotel is a couple of blocks from Walmart, Dollar Tree, Roco's pizza and a couple of museums, but you need a car to drive to downtown Sarasota and the beaches. Downtown is only 5-7 minutes driving distance from the hotel. Lido beach is about a 10-15 minutes drive. The Ringling Museum of art and circus (fantastic place with world-class exhibits!) is only a couple of minutes by car. The only slight drawback about this hotel is that, since it is on route 41, you can hear the traffic from the pool area. That is the case for all hotels located on Rt 41. However, we didn't hear the traffic when inside our room and we were able to sleep peacefully. The hotel plays excellent music by the pool and I suggest that they raise the music volume to mask the sound of traffic. We stayed for 4 nights and would stay again!

Nice place, really quiet and the room was very clean. Great price for the area! The only downside is that turning left on 41 coming out of the property is challenging- but that’s just Sarasota. Would definitely stay here again.
