Great room and one of the best hotel breakfasts that I've had. But getting from the airport to my room was a nightmare. No emailed instructions for the shuttle or signage at the airport. Exited baggage claim at 2115. Wandered around lost. Called the number in the reservation and immediately was prompted to enter an extension number. It would disconnect after I pressed zero. Tried three times. Googled another number and got someone who sort of spoke English, but managed to convey Gate 3 and ten minutes. There is no signage for Gate 3; Only Gates 2 and 4. Gate 3 must be a Harry Potterish space in between. Four calls and 40 minutes later gave up and took a taxi for 20K pesos. Arrived at hotel at 2300. Five people in line for check-in and only one worker. A second person joined, but it still took 30 minutes. They had to fuss with the copy machine. The system must have been down or the people didn't have reservations. Each took an inordinate amount of time and a lot of talking and passing of paper. Once I got to the counter my check-in took only two minutes. Then I and another guest couldn't make the elevator work. Finally another guest arrived and demonstrated the key card elevator activation. No "Place key card here" signage. I've only seen this system twice; in Copenhagen and Tokyo. Finally got to my room about 2340. I was so angry I didn't sleep well. I doubt the memory of an excellent breakfast will override the frustration of getting there. Scratch Marriott Courtyard.
