When we arrived our room was downgraded due to maintenance issues(?) it was their most premium room. They did give us a $100 restaurant credit however to use another room. Then that night the bath tub water valve failed and they are now working on it… hope they will fix it. At least they showed up quickly to attempt a repair. Not going very well so far.

Not as good as expected for the status of the hotel. Good was pretty average at The View. Bed uncomfortable and pillows even worse. Amazing surroundings though and quiet (apart from the dog in the room next door). Bar tender was pretty rude but I guess it was Xmas week

Staff was rude. I went into the restaurant to eat. I was told there’s a wait. It was an empty restaurant. I went to the bar for a drink while i waited and was never seated or acknowledged after that. The same night I went to get into the hot tub which was down the road from my room and it was closed temporarily so there goes another negative experience in the same day.

Kind of a bummer.
I was really excited about coming to the Chaminade. I got here a little bit later in the night and there was absolutely no parking close to my room and had to walk quite a long way. Also, the bed was so extremely uncomfortable. I found it very hard to sleep and tried to put extra blankets on top of it. I was told that it could be a microwave put in my room, but when I called, they were out of microwaves. I had heard about staying at the Chaminade all my life since I am a born and bred Santa Cruz native and was kind of disappointed, unfortunately. I came to stay at Christmas by myself with my puppy to rest and relax. The buffet was good but once again the bed was super uncomfortable and I had to call maintenance a couple times and couldn’t be helped.

The property is beautiful with a lot of facilities/amenity, but the rooms are quite small. Since the property uses Dish network, the room that we first checked into had troubles with some of the tv channels not receiving signal. We had to switch rooms because my wife noticed ants on the bathroom floor after she took a shower. I don’t think I would come back.
