It was a nice place to stay, had everything we needed but checkin was delayed. We were unable to check in on time (4p) as our room was not ready. The front desk person did not have a sense of urgency and customer service was under par.

Great stay on our way through Santa Barbara - check in was quick and straight forward and lots of helpful advice and suggestions were given for things to do and places to eat. Room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean and perfect for our needs.

The Franciscan is always a good choice when in Santa Barbara. The location is 2 blocks from the beach & near lots of restaurants & shopping. The pool area is very nice but we were disappointed to find that the jacuzzi was out of order. The furniture in our room (#107) could use some updating but the bathroom had a new shower & the flooring looked new. There is a hot breakfast that is included & there are warm cookies all day!

The only thing good about this place was the warm pool for my kids. Room was bad. Muggy and weird smell when we checked in. Bed comforters and sheets felt damp. Uncomfortable beds that were different in height and mattress, no clock, no phone, no decor of any sort. No dresser to even put our clothes anywhere!!!! Won’t be back

Friendly hotel in a great location
The Franciscan is a very good hotel. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, just a short walk (block & a 1/2 to the beach). The bed was too firm for my wife and I, so we didn't get as good a night sleep as expected. That's the only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars.

After many years they do have a breakfast serviced there,but it definitely needs work.The coffee and orange juice were fine though.The room we stayed in had no comfortable chairs to sit in.We have stayed here for years because of the excellent location.

Really like the location of the Franciscan hotel. It’s a five minute walk to the beach, but nestled in a residential community. The grounds of the hotel and the room were very clean. Nice wood laminate floors, and simple but sophisticated decor. The view of the Santa Barbara mountains at Sunset was beautiful. Chocolate chip cookies every afternoon ~ nice touch. Lori. Sept. 2024
